The New Madrid Fault Line is a unique band with an original, yet familiar sound. They remind me of a mix between Iron & Wine, and Modest Mouse. They use acoustic melodies and vocal harmonies to achieve their unique sound. They use downbeat rhythms to produce a musical emotion that can really draw you in. They have a great way of building layers in their music that create a dramatic and powerful effect on the listener. Their name fits the music well, as if “danger” was imminent. It’s a tense melodramatic sound that has a certain droning quality to it… in a good way. I like the creativity involved in their music, and I think they are a great up and coming Indie band.
